Services for Students

As an IB Diploma Programme student, the Language A: Literature SL SSST course can at first feel feel daunting, overwhelming, and downright confusing. Parents and guardians of SSST students often share these same feelings. Our highly personalized services are designed to demystify, support, and empower you so that you can find success at your own pace. Our passionate and dedicated team of IB and SSST experts is committed to supporting every student through the programme—from course selection right through to exams.

Standard Services
​Fee:  USD $400 annually

Our service includes:

• Preparation of an IB-approved  and student-centered reading list based on your interests and passions
• Preparation of reading and deadline schedules that takes into account your IB workload
• Preparation, marking, and comprehensive feedback on three sets of mock exams ​over two years
• ​Support for the planning and administration of the individual oral assessment ​

Enhanced Services
​​Fee:  USD $675 annually

This service includes:

• All features of the Standard service
• Up to eight hours of virtual mother tongue tutoring over two years to review the results of your mock exams and to prepare for final exams
• Integration of the SSST course within your ManageBac or Toddle account 

Professional Services
​Fee:  USD $800 annually

This service includes:

• All features of the Standard and Enhanced services
• Procurement of reading material for the course, sent to your home or school

Note: The service fee does not include the cost of books or shipping.

Supplemental Mother Tongue Tutoring
Fee: $975 per semester

The best preparation for SSST examinations includes regular meetings with an IB Language A: Literature expert in your mother tongue. Our  highly-experienced SSST Educators are available to work directly with students each week during the semester to supplement the above services. Tutors will schedule eighteen (18) one-hour sessions per semester to be conducted via Zoom, Google Meet, Skype, FaceTime, or another platform. During these sessions, our team of passionate SSST Educators  will discuss literary works covered, support student progress toward assessment components, and be available for final preparation for SSST mother tongue exams.

Mother Tongue EE Mentorship
Fee:  USD $250 annually

You are eligible to write an extended essay in your mother tongue if you are capable of undertaking it as language A. If there is no internal member of staff who can competently supervise the extended essay process in your mother tongue, then the IB will allow for you to work with an external mentor who fulfills the role of an extended essay supervisor.
